Richard has over 40 years experience as a solicitor practising in commercial, agricultural and residential property. These days his time is taken in advising landowners and farmers in granting options for solar energy farms, battery stores, options for the sale of residential land, farm sales and purchases, acquisition and disposal of business premises (both freehold and leasehold), easements, rights over land and covenants and their enforceability. He also carries out a supervisory role within the Property Department.
He was admitted as a solicitor in December 1981 having completed his training in Devon. After qualifying he practised in London as an assistant solicitor firstly with a West End firm and thereafter with a well-known Lincoln’s Inns firm, Frere Cholmeley. He joined Warner & Richardson in 1985 becoming a partner in April 1987 until April 2018 when the firm became an LLP. Since then he has been a Member of Warner & Richardson LLP.
During his time at the firm he has been Managing Partner, and Senior Partner and has built up a substantial following of clients many of whom have been advised by him throughout his time with the firm.
In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, walking, cycling, beekeeping and vegetable gardening.
